The women’s subscription includes everything from skincare to makeup, as well as fun non-beauty extras. The men’s subscription delivers top-tier grooming products in addition to lifestyle accessories ranging from hip socks to tech accessories.”

Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow
Sample Size: 8 mL  Value: $4.73

This looked awesome because I love getting BBs from Birchbox because I love trying them.  This one is a one shade fits all which is never true.  My skin is FAR too pale to use this.  It is also shimmery which I am not a fan of but I might use is as a bronzing cream or as I get tanner throughout the summer.

Smarty Pants Gummy Vitamins
Sample Size: 2 Gummies  Value: $.33

The first one I tried (the orange one) was pretty good but the red one was so gross I had to spit it out.  The daily serving size is 6 gummies but they only gave me two which was not a great idea.

Number 4 Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner
Sample Size (Shampoo): 1 fl. oz.  Value: $4
Sample Size (Conditioner): .25 fl oz   Value: $1.06

My hair is very very thick so I don’t need the volumizing but I am going to give that to my sister with thinner hair and keep the conditioner so I can test it out.  The shampoo’s packaging is perfect but the conditioner’s is not good.

Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Lotion
Sample Size: 40 mL   Value: $2.53

I love the light scent that this has, this is my second lotion from this brand which I am not a fan of in general (lotions, I mean).

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner in Silver
Sample Size: 0.03 oz  Value: $12

I was hoping when I saw this that it would be a darker grey that is matte but when I opened it, it was a very light silver made of glitter.  Not my style but okay for body art since it stays on pretty well.  I would recommend this but only in a different color.

Value: $24.65!

  • Marcelle BB – $4.73
  • SmartyPants Vitamins – $0.33
  • Number 4 Shampoo – $4
  • Number 4 Conditioner – $1.06
  • Gilchrist & Soames Lotion – $2.53
  • Cynthia Rowley eyeliner – $12

As you can tell, I got 6 samples with the conditioner being a “bonus” sample to match the shampoo.  This box was not my favorite at all because the BB isn’t my shade, the vitamins were kind of gross (sorry), the shampoo and conditioner weren’t for my hair type, I really don’t like lotions much, and the eyeliner wasn’t a good color for me.  Not to complain but I am sure the next box will be amazing (I already got it and it is).

Kisses, Sofia

  1. That’s the downside of beauty boxes subscription…sometimes you end up with stuff you don’t really like! I love reading about what people get from their boxes though 🙂
I’m a new Irish blogger and I’ve been really enjoying the content of your blog. Maybe we can follow each other? I would love to share my thoughts on makeup with you!

    1. Yes, sometimes they don’t turn out how you hope but sometimes they do! Look for my June box any day now, it’s almost done!
I would love to follow you! Your initiative to ask is a very good skill to have as a blogger.

      1. Thank you so much, Sofia! I really appreciate it as I love making new friends with similar interests. Thanks for your kind words, half of the people I reached out for usually ignore me haha. I will certainly keep an eye out for your next beauty box post. I am also holding a little giveaway later, do check back x

  2. Im a little late in reading this but thanks for doing this review. I also get Birchbox and I didnt like the shampoo and conditioner and I also have thick hair so it wasnt an ideal product for me. I really like that you broke the value down so that I feel like its worth it. I got the black eyeliner and i really like it so that alone was worth it. Sometimes I feel like some of the products smell a little funny and I hope they’re not old or expired!

    1. I hope your products weren’t expired! Some products are made with ingredients that have an odd smell but I hope they aren’t old! I agree, the shampoo and conditioner weren’t ideal for us. You can read my blog posts and comment as late as you wish! 🙂 xoxo, Sofia
